ST. COLMCILLE'S CHURCH:
Please note: There will not be any Mass in St. Colmcille's on Monday 20th October, because of the Parish Mission.
MISSION SUNDAY:
The Collection for the Propagation of the Faith is being taken up today. "Mission Sunday is important in the life of the Church. Mission Sunday cannot be left to a group of "specialists". It is a matter for all Christians, dioceses, parishes, Church institutions and associations to pray for and encourage offerings for the missions". (Pope John Paul II). Please be as generous as possible in the Propagation of the Faith Collection, which will be sent in its entirety to the Missions.
OCTOBER DEVOTIONS:
In St. Patrick's at 6.30pm today (Sunday).
EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT:
Every Saturday in St. Patrick's Church from 12 noon to 1pm.
DIOCESAN FUNDRAISING SCHEME:
There will be a meeting of volunteers in St. Michael's Centre on Wednesday evening at 8.30pm. We are grateful to those who have come to the previous meeting and would be grateful if more parishioners would come forward.
NAISCOIL DUN PADRAIG:
A collection for the Irish Language Nursery School will be held outside all Churches in the Parish next weekend.
DOWNPATRICK BEAVER SCOUTS:
On Monday Nights in The Scout Hall, Thomas Russell Park from 7pm - 8pm. Come and join us and learn through fun and enjoyment.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBANUS:
Will be collecting used spectacles in all churches in the parish on Sunday 26th October to help Vision World in their work. Please support this worthy cause.
CHARITY EVENING:
In aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. In Slaney Inn, Raholp, admission £4, includes light supper. Dancing 9pm - 1am.

Is the Magazine of the Missionary Society of St. Columban. Its aim is to promote an awareness of the missionary dimension of the Church. There are 8 issues each year for a small charge of just £5. DOWNPATRICK THIRD WORLD GROUP - UPDATE:
The Downpatrick Third World Group wish to express, once again their sincere appreciation for the generous support shown by the people and members of the business community in Downpatrick and surrounding areas during the past year. The Group is pleased to report that £49,176 was distributed either directly or indirectly, e.g. via Trocaire, Concern, War on Want etc. or directly to individuals and groups, who are known to have dedicated their lives to the relief of poverty/starvation and the care of the sick and dying throughout the world.
For your information, our Annual Financial Report, which gives a detailed picture of our activities is on display in all the Churches of the Parish. Please take a few moments to glance at it. Anyone interested in helping the poor and marginalized, in under-developed countries of the World, are most welcome to join our group, which meets at 8pm on the first Wednesday of each month in the room below St. Patrick's Church.
