REDUCTION IN PARISH MASSES
In the likely event of a reduction of the number of priests in Downpatrick parish from five to four, there will also need to be a reduction in the number of Sunday masses. Deciding how to reduce the number of masses in the parish will not be an easy decision. Ultimately it will be the responsibility of the Parish Priest and the Bishop, having first consulted with the parishioners, the Parish Pastoral Council and the curates. The various spiritual needs of the parish will also need to be taken into account.
As a first step in this consultation you are invited to complete the short questionnaire below and return it at next Sunday's masses or to any of the parochial houses.
