We condemn absolutely those who have carried out this dreadful act and we appeal to anyone who has any knowledge of them to inform the appropriate authorities.

APOSTOLIC WORK:
This year we celebrate 80 years of Apostolic Work in Down and Connor. Apostolic Work was founded to respond to the needs of missionaries who had started to go abroad at the beginning of the last century. Apostolic Work supplied the material and financial needs of the missionaries and today we still carry on that tradition. Nowadays, the major share of the funds raised are distributed as cash donations. In this way the money is spent where it is most needed and leads to the provision of local employment and the setting up of self help groups. This empowers people to take control of their own lives and to use and develop their talents. In Downpatrick we have a dedicated group of workers but always welcome new members at any time.
