Welcome to
the Narnia 4x4 Challenge website
Offroad Ireland
is running the Narnia 4x4 Challenge on Sat 30th
to Sun 31st May 2009 to raise money for the N.I.
Cancer Fund for Children and their residential
home in the Mournes
It will be a
treasure hunt style driving and navigation event
with offroad sections along the way (the rough bits
are optional). It will all take place in the Kingdom
Of Mourne so don't panic about running that V8,
the mileage won't be in the hundreds (assuming you
don't get lost of course!)
It is essential
to have at least 1 navigator, feel free to bring
the family along, they'll be kept busy looking for
hidden clues.
Spaces are limited
to 20 vehicles so book early to avoid disappointment.
COSTS:
£75 per vehicle
this includes campsites fees for sat night, event
sticker, ordnance survey maps & an evening meal
(nothing fancy) or BBQ on Sun night (based on 2
people per vehicle, small additional charge for
extra passengers)
we would like you to get sponsored for this event
as it raises awareness for the charity
VEHICLE SUITABILITY:
any 4x4 can enter but the more capable the vehicle
the less walking you have to do
there will be some rough sections to keep the simex
shod boys happy but a freelander on road tyres should
be able to win the event
The event will
follow a strict "tread lightly" approach
on the public sections & all vehicles must follow
all safety procedures and be fully road legal AND
roadworthy! (of course you can trailer your safari
special round all tye sites if you like but it won't
be an advantage )
