LATEST NEWS:
THE SLEEPY
SEVENS:
On 2nd October we will be competing for the 5th
year now in the Temple Street 4x4 Challenge 4 Charity
but asking you all to sponsor us for having a fun
weekend away seems a bit unfair so for 2010 we will
be doing something MUCH more challenging, we will
attempt to camp on the 7 highest summits in Northern
Ireland before the end of September (and we will
be walking to each one!) all over 700m high (2300ft).
Everyone is welcome to come along, just make sure
you bring your own tent ;-)
if we raise £2500 i'll walk
in fancy dress, if we raise £5000 i'll walk
up Donard barefoot!!
NOW COMPLETED

5th Oct 2009
- We managed to take home a prize for the Night
Navigation and came 3rd overall, not bad at all
for a novice navigator, well done Angi.

Oct 2009
- Team BLRC are doing the 4x4 Challenge for the
4th year running, we had planned to give it a break
for a year but a last minute call to help out a
damsel in distress could not be turned down! Angi,
the Events Manager from Temple Street Hospital was
hoping to take part this year but had no one to
drive her so Liam is currently dusting down the
Discovery so he can put even more stickers on it!
as we have started rather late this year we are
more in need of funds than usual so please put a
few pounds in the pot, many thanks.
May 2009
- Team BLRC help run the
Narnia 4x4 Challenge
Oct 2008 - We are
getting better at this as we have won the trophy
for first place on day 1 event the event (obviously
we didn't quite hit the mark on day 2!) and came
3rd overall - see 2008

the jeep doctors
20/09/08
- Once again our Driver Paul will be in hospital
(i'm beginning to think he does this on purpose!!)
so the 2007 team of Liam & Eric will be attempting
to make it 3rd time lucky in the Irish 4x4 Challenge
4 Charity taking place on the 4th & 5th October
20/10/07 - Liam
attended the Marie Curies Ladies Driving Challenge
in the Fire Engine again, and it survived! around
30 ladies had the pleasure (and a couple had the
displeasure) of driving this vintage land rover
on the race track at kirkistown - see 2007
pics
7/10/07 - Eric & Liam complete the Irish
4x4 Challenge 4 Charity, despite a breakdown on
the fisrt day we recovered thanks to Raymond Black
at www.burnside-auto.com
and won the Team Spirit award - see here
for the full story
30/8/07 - Bad news for Team BLRC, Paul is
currently in hospital and will not be back on his
feet
in time for the challenge so we have a new driver
in the team in the guise of Eric "oilleak"
McNally
of course this is good news for Eric :-)
21/10/06 - Liam's Fire Engine was used in
the Marie Curies Ladies Driving Challenge at Kirkistown
Race Track
8/10/06 - a very tired & weary but still
very happy Paul & Liam finished the Irish 4x4
Challenge 4 Charity at the Slieve Russell Hotel
in Ballyconnell, Cavan, after a poor start on day
1 we were gobsmacked to find that we had come 2nd
on day 2 !
