MARIE CURIE
LADIES DRIVING CHALLENGE 2007 at KIRKISTOWN
On 20th October 2007 Liam attended the Ladies Driving
Challenge in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care Fund
for the second year running (you think he would
have known better after last year!),
The
ladies had to raise sponsorship to drive various
challenging vehicles around Kirkistown Race Track,
these vehicles include oil tankers, stretch limos,
army vehicles, ambulances, police land rovers &
Fire Engines, this is where we came in as we will
be donated a Series 3 Forward Control Fire Engine
for the day

up at the crack of dawn to catch the early ferry,
all on my own

arrive at kirkistown and spot another land rover

the rac where on hand to scrutineer me
(i didn't tell them i was with the AA)

hope they're not all waiting for me

this year we had 2 fire engines

mine spent more time on the grass than the tarmac
though

for some reason most of the ladies wanted to go
in the real fire engine
must have been the power steering and automatic
gearbox

which suited me fine as i could take more photos
of the fire engine
but these ladies kept getting in the way!

A SELECTION OF THE OTHER
VEHICLES

This year was the 10th anniversary of the event
thanks to all the ladies
who drove the rusty old fire engine, i have to say
that i was quite impressed with the driving standards,
but some of you remember that left here means turn
left and stop means STOP :-)
looking forward to next year
a final word of thanks to our team sponsors
