day1 - navigating round the minor roads & unsurfaced tracks of the burren in clare after an 8am start

no time to check out the scenery while constantly looking for clues

 

end of day 1, the night navigation along some forest tracks, didn't get back to the campsite until 2am

the first and only time we got stuck (any excuse for a photo)

day 2 - the starting point, 9am, getting last minute instructions
before setting off at short intervals

the first stage involved a small but tricky off road course in an old quarry, excellent

that was fun

so we had a second go (and a third)

yes we tried it a little bit faster each time, purely for photograhic purposes of course

the diff sniffers come to our aid to help straighten a bent track rod at the roadside

an exhausted paul & liam pose at the finish line at the slieve russell hotel

a quick stop at BLRC on the way home to show andrew & grenville our silverware
